I enjoyed my time working with Renee and Ethan for this assignment. Even though we lived very far away from each other, we still managed to find a destination that was most comfortable for all of us to reach to. Renee and I did the survey since Ethan was busy most of the time, so he did the secondary data. I learned that doing surveys usually take a while, because you more often get rejected than the times you don't, and there is no need to feel bad for that. I also learned that we had to do our assigned parts in time in order to give each other time to do other work since for this group assessment we had to work cooperatively and combine our knowledge. Overall, this assignment was an enjoyable experience which provided me with a higher awareness about the busyness of Burwood. If I could redo this assignment, I would attempt to contact my peers earlier and assign our parts of research beforehand to save more time. I also think that we could have changed our focus questions a little bit since they were a bit vague and could be quite confusing. Technically, some issues that we had could not be dealt by Westfield. We could've focused on stuff about Westfield Burwood that could be changed, other than creating focus questions that were harder to solve.

In terms of the assignment, I believed our group did well to complete the task presented in front of us. When our group was first formed, we immediately allocated positions to each other and decided our area - Burwood. I was to do the website as I lived further away, whilst the other two were to do all the information whilst I put it in. However, as the assignment progressed, different people became unavailable for some parts of the data collecting, and in the end I ended up doing a larger amount of the work than I had expected. I believe one of our strongest flaws doing the assignment was teamwork, as our group became rather isolated with each other for a period of time in which hardly anything was achieved. Another problem that we addressed was that our focus questions and survey questions were posing problems that Westfield itself could not fix - such as roads and pedestrian crossing etc. If I could change how we carried out the assignment, I would definitely have started early and tried to accomplish more in shorter time with minimal distractions, as well as properly reviewed our aim and focus questions. This would have led to a higher degree of quality for the assignment as well as a less frantic situation. From this assignment, I have learnt to be patient and adapted to the fact that not everyone will accept you (or your survey). I have also learnt to work harder in a group and be confident enough to interview someone, and I believe this will help me in the future.

I enjoyed working with Renee and David. We worked well together and managed to complete all the tasks on time and to our standards although it got a bit frantic at times. We quickly established who was going to do what and decided on a location that was agreeable to the entire group since we all lived a fair distance away from each other. We eventually decided on Burwood as a location as it was a place we could all get to with relative ease. I drafted and edited the focus questions and the survey questions to compensate for my lack of attendance when David and Renee were conducting the survey. While I was drafting and editing the survey and focus questions my teammates and Mr. Vandehoek gave me advice on what should be included and what to focus on, this was very helpful since if we had not changed the focus we would have had way too much information to collect and process. I was unable to attend the survey due to an appointment with the dentist so I was assigned the task of researching the secondary research. I think I did fairly well on the secondary research although I could have gathered more information on Burwood’s past but there wasn’t much relating to that. Another department that i didn't really help in was website design as Renee agreed to do it by her self but since I couldn't attend the survey i had to help with a bit of the website and incorporate a bibliography. I really enjoyed this task and it has made me more aware about the affect that major development can have on a city and it has improved many of my skills, such as teamwork, organisation, website design and research but overall I could have had more interaction with my team and been a bit more organised.
